Public Meeting to Discuss Columbia Park West Plans
RICHLAND, Wash-- Columbia Park West on the Columbia River could take 20-plus years to fully develop. But before city leaders move any further they're holding a public meeting next Wednesday, the 17th, at the Kiwanis building on the Columbia Park Trail.
So what do you want seen in Columbia Park? Got any ideas? If so, head to the meeting. They're asking for just about anyone and everyone to come out, from teens to adults. That's because the project will take so long to finish, the younger kids may better benefit from the project.
"We're particularly interested in hearing from the young people because it's going to take 10-20, maybe more, years to actually implement the plans, and so the people that will actually benefit from it are the folks that are younger now," says Bill King, Deputy City Manager of Richland.
This is the first meeting for this project. There will be another one in October and then again December. And keep in mind while you may want this or that, there are city ordinances and ecological barriers both cities will work have to work around.
