Finley Elementary Students Carry on 12 Year Tradition

Posted: Updated:

FINLEY, Wash - It was an emotional but exciting kick off to summer vacation today.

Students from  Finley Elementary hopped on the bus, rolled down the windows and waved good-bye to teachers and staff on their final day of school.

Some even dressed up in funny outfits to celebrate. "Well, it's a tradition...it started in 4th grade and so we just wanted to do it cause we just like to be silly on the last day of school. Plus we did it cause next year we're going to be middle schoolers." Says Student Cierra Sakota.

The bus circling is also a tradition for the past 12 years.

Teachers and staff gather outside the school and say their goodbyes and wave to the kids as the busses circle around the parking lot, honking their horns.
