YAKIMA, Wash. -- An East Valley school teacher was put on paid administrative leave, after allegations the teacher was having inappropriate contact with a student.
The East Valley School District issued a letter to KNDO today. In the letter, it stated the "District has begun its investigation to determine what the facts are even before law enforcement has completed its investigation. As the District's investigation is not completed, it would be inappropriate for the District to speculate or discuss any of the details of the situation."
The allegations were reported on Tuesday, June 9th. The District said it immediately contacted the Yakima County Sheriff's Office, who are also conducting their own investigation.
We called superintendent John Schieche tonight, but he said he couldn't comment right now.
