KENNEWICK, Wash-- A 73-year-old woman is attacked by four dogs in Kennewick Saturday morning.
Kennewick Police say Barbara Long was on her morning walk when she said four dogs, three of which were pit bulls, attacked her.
This happened on 8th and Alder Street in East Kennewick. Long was able to get away from the dogs and run to a neighbors house for help.
She was taken to KGH and had to get stitches. The dogs were transported to the animal control shelter. Police say the owners of the dogs, 24 year-old Jason Umland and Regina Valdez could face criminal charges.
"You have to keep your dogs contained within your yard. If you do not and they harm someone it is against the law," said Ofc. Ken Melone, Kennewick Police Department.
Neighbors say the dogs had been on the loose for the past few hours. They say the dogs ran at them around 2 am and they flashed their headlights to get them away.
Police say it's still unclear how the animals got loose. Animal control is doing an investigation.
