KENNEWICK, Wash. - The 1-10 Fever plays at 10-0 Spokane Saturday. Fever defensive back DeVon Walker will have his hands full on defense, but thanks to an interesting side job, Walker has learned a few extra moves. Walker teaches an aerobics class called hip-hop abs at Starfit in Kennewick/ "It's like hip-hop music," said Walker. "It keeps you dancing so you don't think about how hard you're working. "What I put them through, if they did it without the music and the other people they probably wouldn't finish." Walker teaches the class twice a week and it has steadily grown from a handful of people a month ago, to about 30 people now. "I like it because I get my workout and I get to see other people get a work out," he said. Walker isn't the only Fever player hitting up the class. "I'm trying to be a big man and get sexy for the summer.," said one teammate. "I'm tired right now," said another. "If you do it right You'll get a sweat." DeVon says teaching is fun and gets him better prepared to play football. "When you work your abs and core it allows you to transition and change direction quicker and be more explosive," he said. "It's been helping my endurance in practice," said teammate Brandon Harrell. "I can tell by day three of hitting and banging that I'm pretty fresh."
