Hundreds Gather at City Hall to Voice Opinion on Proposed Planned Parenthood
PASCO, Wash-- Hundreds showed up to Pasco City Hall to voice their opinions on a proposed Planned Parenthood.
What makes this proposed clinic a hot topic is the location; plans would have it built on Court Street near Mark Twain Elementary School.
Thursday, city officials heard from concerned parents, and those in support of the plan. Here is a taste of what some people are saying:
"We followed all of the Pasco planning commissions' guidelines when we looked for our site and applied for the permit," says Anna Franks with Planned Parenthood. "And we feel very strongly the site we proposed is an ideal location and meets all of the guidelines for the city of Pasco."
"I just don't think a facility like that should be right there near an elementary school," says one parent.
"We desparately need these services," says another.
The school district is not making any comment on the proposed plans.
