Lockhard Will Help Police Search for Woman's Body

Posted: Updated:
Pasco, WA- A man sentenced today for the death of a Pasco teenager now says he'll help police find the woman's body.

Marnicus Lockhard received the maximum eight years for second degree manslaughter.

The body of 19-year-old Tiairra Jo Garcia has yet to be found.  Prosecutors say Lockhard dumped her body in a remote area of Mount Rainier National park.

After Lockhard apologized today, his attorneys  said Lockhard will cooperate with Pasco police still searching for the woman's body.

Garcia's mother says eight years in prison isn't enough, but Donna Garcia says she just wants to get her daughter back.

Superior Court Judge Bruce Spanner says he's distressed that Lockhard has waited until now to help find the woman's body.

Spanner today also gave Lockhard a maximum five year prison sentence for a drug conviction, which Lockhard will serve after he serves his eight years for manslaughter.
