YAKIMA--A developmentally disabled Yakima man is safe with his family Saturday after going missing since Tuesday.
Police picked up Jesse Birruta around 2:00 p.m. Saturday at a bus stop near the intersection of 40th Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard. A passerby thought he saw Birruta there and tipped police.
Before he was found, family members canvassed businesses throughout the Yakima Valley and even in the Tri-Cities, passing out fliers to get the word out about Birruta.
Jesse's aunt Blanca Garcia-Anderson said he told his family he had been at a friend's house for the past few days. His family feared the worst when he didn't show up for work a few days ago.
Birruta stays in community living housing. He's only been in Yakima for six months so he's not very familiar with the area.
Now he's back home, safe and sound.
