YAKIMA, Wash. -- A woman accused of causing the death of her daughter pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide today.
Nicole Estrada will be spending a year and three months in prison, after a car accident in january 2008 killed her 3 year old daughter.
The judge gave Estrada the lower end of possible sentences. Vehicular homicide is a felony and considered a violent offense.
We spoke to Nicole's mother Norma Bender, who was not able to see her daughter be sentenced.
"It's hard, because we already lost Sofia and now Nicole will be gone... and we wont know what's going on with her," said Bender.
Nicole estrada will also have to serve 18 to 36 months of community custody.
