KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Visiting rooms at Kennewick's Hope and Family Social Service Center got a make-over Saturday.
The group Soroptimist International of Mid-Columbia volunteered their time today to paint and redecorate. The Kennewick center is a place where foster kids can have supervised visitation with parents and family. Soroptimist leaders say they want to make these visits better for children. Board member Mistee Verhulp explains, "Supervised visitations are not the most comfortable thing anyway. So, we thought it would be nice for the children, as well as the family members to come into a place that is more cheery and bright."
Juana Bautista, Director for the Hope and Family Social Service Center, says, "It means a lot to us. I know the children will be really happy when they come and see this."
