Washington Closure Hanford Employee Hurt in Fall While on the Job

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, Wash.--  A Hanford worker was injured after falling about 50 feet while on the job Wednesday.

The Department of Energy says a Washington Closure Hanford employee fell through an access door while working on a catwalk in the 300 area.  They say the man sustained a number of very serious injuries, but they aren't believed to be life-threatening.  DOE workers say a rail on the ladder about half-way down kept him from hitting the ground full force.  He was rushed to Kadlec Medical Center to be treated.
