YAKIMA - Gerson Montilla belted a towering two-run home run to cut the Bears' (6-7) deficit to one in the bottom of the fourth inning, but the Indians (5-8) would pull away from that point on, defeating Yakima 6-3 to clinch the series Thursday night in front of 1,724 fans at County Stadium.

Montilla finished the night going 3-for-4 at the plate, with a run and two RBI.

Alex Thieroff made his professional debut Thursday night, combining with fellow Bears relievers Dan Taylor and Brian Budrow to throw 3 2/3 innings of shutout ball to finish the game.

Aja Barto led the way offensively for the Indians, going 4-for-5 with a triple, run and an RBI.

With the loss, Yakima has now lost five of its last six games after rattling off five consecutive wins.
