OCRACOKE, N.C. (AP) - At least four people working on Fourth of July fireworks shows are dead from explosions yesterday/
3 of them died from a blast on Ocrakoke Island in North Carolina's Outer Banks. Federal agents are on scene today investigating why the fireworks blew up as they were being unloaded from a truck.

In Merrillville, Ind., 25 people were hurt when a wooden foot bridge collapsed as people were leaving the Fourth of July fireworks show. About 50 people were dumped into a lake. Twenty-5 of them were hurt, though none with any life-threatening injuries.
Authorities say the bridge was built to hold about 40 people, but twice that many were on it when it collapsed.
