RICHLAND -- The City of Richland and Lamb Weston strike a deal for 8.6 acres of land on Columbia Point.
ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston will now build a 3 story structure to house their administrative campus.
The building will go up between the Shilo Inn and the golf course. Lamb Weston paid $1,417,000 for the land.
Gary Ballew, Richland Economic Development Manager, says, "The city evaluates everything, all the revenues we're going to see, which includes property tax from the building. So if somebody is going come in and build a lot more expensive buildings, then those revenue streams equal out."
ConAgra has agreed to maintain a green space between the street and the river shore for public use. Their parking lot will be available to the public during non-business hours.
