Ben Franklin Transit Public Hearing

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash - People listened and voiced their opinions today during a public hearing for Ben Franklin Transit.

Due to reduced tax revenue and low rider ship, BFT  may be forced to cut service and increase rates.

The changes have some people concerned.

"I guess a number of people will lose their jobs because they can't get to work on Sunday" Says Tony Farmer.

"There's a lack of awareness in the community and by the board...none of them ride the bus." Said Nancy Osborn.

"My mother is in a wheelchair and has no legs. That is the only way that she can get there. And I'm just concerned that they're leaving out a bunch of people that really need it." Explained Christine Mundahl.

All public emails, comments, and phone calls will be documented and given to the Ben Franklin Transit Board of Directors for consideration.
