Pasco, WA- Because of budget cuts, the Washington State Health Department has begun phasing out the Children Immunization Program.
But county health workers say parents shouldn't panic.
Right now, most insurance companies cover child immunizations.
But if your provider doesn't cover immunizations, or you don't have health insurance, Heather Hill at the Benton County Health District says you'll qualify for the vaccine program paid for with federal money.
"All children will continue to have access to vaccine," Hill says. "It will just come and be paid for from a different pot."
The health district urges parents not to wait until the last minute to get their children immunized before school starts.
