KENNEWICK, Wash-- A teen is recovering at Kennewick General Hospital after a late night stabbing that happened at a church.
It all happened at Saint Joseph's Church on South Garfield Street in Kennewick. Police officers say 18-year-old Juan Jose Sanchez-Gomez of Yakima was at a wedding reception when he and four others got in a fight.
It was during that fight Sanchez-Gomez was stabbed. Tonight, four teens are in juvenile detention, and police say this is gang-related.
"The subjects that were arrested are gang members," says Kennewick Police Officer Ken Melone. "The victim admits to knowing gang members and be associated with them in Yakima."
One of the four teens is facing first degree assault charges. Three other teens are also facing charges. Tonight Sanchez-Gomez is listed in stable condition.
