Parents Urged to Get Kids Vaccinated Now

Posted: Updated:

Pasco, WA- The Benton County Health District is warning parents about catching a case of procrastination.

All school children must have their immunizations up to date before school starts in the fall, but health workers say parents shouldn't wait until august, because that's when all the other parents are going to want to bring their kids in.

"That becomes an extremely busy time for providers and the health district," says Heather Hill at the health district, "to get all these kids in at the last minute for their shots they have to have before they can pick up their schedules at school."

New this year, the health district no longer accepts walk-ins, so parents must schedule an appointment, but health workers say that has made it much easier for busy parents on a tight schedule.
