KENNEWICK, Wash. - You may soon have to show a photo ID next time you go to your dentist's office.
It's to protect against identity theft. Stealing people's identity to get dental care has become a big enough problem that the Federal Trade Commission will soon implement a "Red Flags Rule."
What that means is all patients will soon have to show identification before seeing the dentist.
Some offices are already practicing the new rule.
The regulation doesn't take effect until August 1st.
