Governor Gregoire is calling on Washingtonians to do more community service so she is going to be volunteering herself Thursday.
In order to show the importance of service, the governor will take part in two events in Olympia in the afternoon. First she will be speaking at a Pray for Washington rally. Gregoire will encourage the audience to set aside political and religious differences and work together to help local communities.
Then she will volunteer work at a farm. She will box produce items grown on the farm that will go to people and organizations fighting hunger.
Both events will be part of the governor's goal to get all Washingtonians to volunteer one hour ever month.
