Richland Part of Nationwide Protest on Health Care Proposal
Richland, WA- People opposed to a government-sponsored health care system held demonstrations across the country today.
About two-dozen people stood outside the federal building in Richland where U-S Senator Maria Cantwell has an office.
Among the group was Ross Burton. He says as a veteran of the military he has experienced with government controlled health care. "That's socialized health care right there. They decided my son didn't fit the requirements for life saving care, so he died. I don't want that to happen to other people."
The group is calling on the northwest congressional delegation to reject the government-sponsored health care plan, and support cost cutting measures instead, such as malpractice insurance premiums.
