City Council Prepares for Multiple Meetings Tuesday
YAKIMA, Wash. - The city council is preparing for a busy day Tuesday, when they take part in three separate meetings scheduled throughout the day.
City manager Dick Zais explained during the city's media briefing on Monday that the first meeting will be regarding the 2010 budget. He hopes to get guidance from the council on their priorities for the upcoming year as well as how to allocate the city's resources for that list.
"There are some hopes on our part, myself as manager that we will have some clarity on this issue tomorrow," he said.
The council will also discuss the concerns about construction on 72nd Ave. and Summitview Ave. Tuesday night during their regularly scheduled business meeting.
The city will provide an informative presentation on the project as well as listen to concerns from residents. The move is in response to more than a dozen calls and emails the city received on the issue.
Council members day begins at 8:00 a.m. inside chambers for the session regarding the budget. They will then head to the Harman Center to meet with the Parks and Recreation Commission at 12:00 p.m. Their final meeting will be back inside city hall for their business meeting at 6:00 p.m.
