KENNEWICK, Wash.-- A man faces multiple charges after his car crashes into a canal in Kennewick. Police say 26-year-old Michael Paleyo missed a turn and went straight into a canal off 8th Avenue and Fir Street.
Officers say the Yakima man had been drinking and was driving with a suspended license. He tried to run away from the scene, but was recognized by by witnesses, and quickly caught by police. Moments before ending up in the water, officers say Paleyo hit a parked car just down the road on 9th Pl. He was also wanted on a warrant.
Pelayo only had minor inuries, and now faces charges of hit and run, DUI, and driving with a revoked license.
