Kennewick- A local man gets the surprise of his life after getting a personal response from Farrah Fawcett's long-time companion Ryan O'neal.
O'neal talked about what's been keeping him busy since Fawcett's death on The Today Show.
"I have launched into this massive job of answering the mail that has come in for her over the last few weeks," he said.
John Buckinham of Kennewick was among the lucky. After his own mother died of bone cancer four years ago, he related to O'Neal and decided to reach out to by writing a letter. Not expecting anything in return, Buckinham was shocked when he opened the mail. He says he remembers Fawcett as an angel.
"Farrah Fawcett was so beautiful," said Buckinham "She hould have survived many more years."
The letter, which thanks Buckinham for his kindness and heartfelt words has helped him cope with his own loses. In addition to the letter, he also received two autographed pictures of his idols. He plans to frame the pictures.
