RICHLAND, Wash.-- A dog park in Richland gets the green light. The Badger Mountain Community Park's master plan was amended at Tuesday night's city council meeting.
The new plan includes five acres for a dog park. Richland Parks and Recreation staff say two and a half acres will be used at a time, while the other half has time to regrow. There will be a section for small dogs, and one for big dogs.
Right now the city is looking for partnerships to help pay for and maintain the area. They're also applying for grant money.
It may take two to three years before the dog park is open. Badger Mountain Community Park's master plan also includes tennis courts, softball fields, and additional parking being added over the next several years.
