State Speaker of the House Talks Energy with Community Leaders
PASCO, Wash. - Washington State Speaker of the house, Frank Chopp made a brief visit in Pasco today.
The Pasco Chamber of Commerce invited the speaker to a dinner at the Red Lion Hotel in Richland.
The focus of the meeting was energy issues dealing with the future of solar, wind and nuclear power.
The speaker was there to hear comments and answer questions from community leaders.
"There's a lot of exciting ideas the Tri-Cities has and we're looking forward to getting the job done next year or the following year," said Representative Frank Chopp, Washington State Speaker of the House.
One of the specific ideas he's referring to is helping pass state legislation to create an energy park in the Tri-Cities.
The speaker asked community leaders to come up with the specifics of the plan before implementing them at a state level.
