YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - Yakima County Treasurer Ilene Thomson says the county has enough money to pay its bills even though more than 200 of its checks bounced.
Thomson says Key Bank inadvertently returned the checks, called warrants, last month as being drawn on an account with insufficient funds. She's still clearing a few outstanding checks to vendors or employees.
The bank corrected the error. A vice president in Bellevue, Kim Monson, told The Yakima Herald-Republic she couldn't comment on the problem because of privacy issues.
