KENNEWICK, Wash.-- KID still expects it to take seven to ten days before irrigation water will be available again to customers.
Today the process began to fill in the large sinkhole created by the main canal leak. Up next is repairing the crack in the canal's concrete wall. Now crews might be able to get some water in the badger east and west canals in the next few days. But in the meantime there continues to be no irrigation water. For customers wondering about their bill. KID says they are not obligated to pay any reimbursement.
Some good news though, all eight famiilies who had to evacuate yesterday are back in their homes, and KID will pay for the damage the leak directly caused to their property.
