Schalchlin Moved Out of Benton County

Posted: Updated:
Kennewick, WA- A West Richland teenager sentenced to nearly ten years in prison has now been moved from Benton County juvenile detention.

17-year-old Donald Schalchlin pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the deaths of his mother and younger sister.

The Juvenile Rehabilitation Agency today moved Schalchlin to a juvenile prison in Shelton. He'll stay there briefly before he's transferred to Green Hills School in Chehalis.

This is a juvenile facility for older, serious offenders. It's also the same facility where 18-year-old Joshua Tucker is serving two life sentences for the murders of Schalchlin's mother and sister.

Schalchlin's attorneys plan to file a no-contact order that would require juvenile authorities to keep Schalchlin and Tucker from crossing paths at Green Hills.
