Health specialists recommend going out in the morning and evenings to avoid peak hours in the sun. They say no matter when you are outside in this heat, wear light colors and clothing made of lighter materials.
If you're planning any activities outside, take the following steps before and while you in the sun.
They recommend drinking eight to 16 ounces of cold water or a sports drink before you go outside. Then, be sure to re-hydrate yourself every 15 minutes.
You should avoid soda, tea, coffee, or alcohol while outside and eat a lot of fruits and vegetables.
