"The Bureau expects to partially restore service to the KID much sooner than originally planned.  The Bureau of Reclamation (Bureau) was on site at Chandler at 6:00 a.m. Thursday morning to evaluate the extent of the damage.  By 7:00 a.m. they had already began working to repair the leak.  Chandler is located about five miles west of Benton City.

The Bureau began to partially re-fill the Chandler Diversion Canal Thursday morning.  At this point they believe they will be able to give KID some water Thursday evening while they are repairing the leak, although how much water is still unknown.  The canal system holds about 500 million gallons of water.

The District expects to issue an updated re-start timeline on Friday, after hearing back from the Bureau."
