YAKIMA, Wash. -- Clayton Conner and Ryan Wheeler each blasted home runs but by that point it was too late as the Everett AquaSox (25-17) defeated the Yakima Bears (16-26) 11-6 in the series finale in front of 2,244 fans at County Stadium Saturday night.

The Bears trailed 3-2 heading into the seventh inning before the ‘Sox exploded for four runs in each of the next two frames to put the game out of reach. Everett tallied 20 hits off five different Bears hurlers. Starter Ben Dollar (0-2) took the loss, lasting three innings, allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out two and walking zero. Christian Staehely (3-1) worked two scoreless innings out of the Everett bullpen to earn the victory.

Dan Kaczrowski went 3-for-4 with a double and a stolen base. Conner finished the night 2-for-4 with his co-league leading eighth home run, and two RBI. Wheeler was 2-for-5 with a home run, double and four RBI. The Yakima designated hitter finished the series 9-for-20 with four runs scored, two doubles, three triples, two home runs and 12 RBI.

The Bears are off Sunday and will open up a five-game road trip against the Vancouver Canadians (18-23) Monday night at Nat Bailey Stadium at 7:05. Andrew Wolcott (2-2, 4.17 ERA) gets the nod for Yakima against Julio Ramos (1-5, 3.65 ERA) for Vancouver.
