YAKIMA--The gang violence continues in Yakima. This time, an early-morning shooting leaves one injured.
Police on patrols near the 600 block of North Sixth Street heard gunshots around 1:00 a.m. Sunday.
Officers found two dozen shell casings in the road, along with broken glass that appeared to be from a car window.
Police found the victim outside a Domino's Pizzeria a few blocks away. He told police two Hispanic men wearing red asked him if he was in a gang, then started shooting.
This is the fourth gang-related shooting in Yakima since Friday. Police say these incidents are cyclical.
"[The recent violence] probably started over some incident a few months back, and by now they don't even remember what started it," Sgt. Mike Henne, Yakima Police Department, said. "It's just a 'you went after us, we're coming after you-type thing."
The victim appeared to have been shot in the back of his neck, but police aren't sure if he was shot or hit by shrapnel.
