ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Two women who have been missing near Lake Kachess since beginning a day hike on Wednesday afternoon have walked out to the trailhead on their own.
The women, 65-year-old Ruby Okada and 62-year-old Louise Bartels, became separated from their hiking party near the Rachel Lake Trail, east of Snoqualmie Pass.
The Kittitas County sheriff's office says the women walked to the trailhead on their own on Thursday afternoon.
Sheriff Dean Dana says the women do a lot of hiking but were not familiar with the area. They were not prepared for an overnight stay in the woods.
