YAKIMA--It's a traffic alert: work started on the Naches River Bridge Wednesday night.
The bridge was damaged three years ago.
Now, workers are repairing it and smoothing out the road.
It will take you longer to get through this stretch of road for the next weeks. Crews will work from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
During this time, the speed limit on the bridge will be reduced to 35 miles per hour.
"We could have some backups but if people pay attention, slow down, and follow the rules of the road we're seeing about 1 to 2 minutes in delays," Project Engineer Paul Gonseth said.
To repair the bridge, traffic will be reduced to one lane on I-82 at night.
The highway construction is expected to last for more than a month, so keep an eye out for any changes.
