KENNEWICK, Wash-- For Janet Beller, it's all about waking up to the news.
"I tape the 11 o'clock news every night and watch it in the morning," she says.
Janet subscribes to DirecTV. For a week now she's been getting Yakima news, and Yakima news only. The problem is Janet lives in the Tri-Cities.
"It dawned on us we'd been seeing nothing the Yakima news for several days," she adds.
For years DirecTV carried Tri-Cities news. But equipment failure and plans to move have paved way for the switch.
"Now it's flip-flopped," says KNDU and KNDO General Manager Larry Forsgren. "The people in Yakima, we've received some comments of how positive, they're very happy about it. Obviously we've received comments from Tri-Cities people they want their Tri-Cities news back."
The move has created some waves, leaving Janet asking 'what now'?
"We don't have a whole lot of options, which is why we have DirecTV," she adds.
