KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Kennewick Police say it's because of their zero tolerance policy that the number of gang arrests they've made has surged in the past month.
Last night's standoff off 13th Ave. in Kennewick added to the rising total. KPD say since their gang crackdown in July, they have made at least thirty five gang-related arrests.
Police say the rise in arrests is not because of gang members moving in from other areas, rather they say it's because of their strict zero tolerance policy.
Police say all five of the teens arrested after last night's stand-off had some sort of gang tie.
