RICHLAND, Wash. - A big change is coming to the Richland School Districts administration.

Doctor Jean Lane has announced this will be her last year as superintendent.

She has served as Superintendent since 2008. In her 19 years with the Richland School District, she's also served as the Principal of Marcus Whitman Elementary School, Executive Director of Elementary Education, Assistant Superintendent of Instruction and Deputy Superintendent.

She plans on making the 2009-20010 school year her best.

"From emergency management work to meeting the new budget, we'll have a levy this year as will the other districts, a very important one. There's lots of work to do, but I'll enjoy every minute of it."

Lane says she started her career as a teacher in Newport which is North of Spokane. She also taught in the Kennewick School District before moving to Richland.

The people she works with is what she'll miss the most.
