KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Mike Fish says he's just trying to promote the American dream.

Fish and his girlfriend, Monique Bohnsack, are in the middle of a 48-state tour they're calling the "Ride for Hope". The couple was in Kennewick Thursday and, according to Fish, they've driven more than 10,000 miles and passed through 38 states.

They're promoting Fish's business Sound Life Education, which teaches people about financial issues like investing in real estate, managing money, and repairing bad credit. Fish says he was once on welfare, but taught himself how to make money through smart investments. Now he's hoping to motivate people all over the country to do the same.

"People have got to stand up and take charge and make a difference, so that's what we're doing", said Fish. "We're showing we can take on the world... the elements and all the challenges of rising a bike across the country and, no matter what happens, we're going to finish it".
