Possible move for Track 29 shopping center

YAKIMA, Wash. - Tenants of Track 29 said Monday the owner is taking steps to move the shopping center to a new location.

Right now the Track is located off of Front St., north of Yakima Ave.  The owner is considering moving to a new site south of the avenue.

Mike Bastinelli is the owner of Russillo's restaurant at the shopping center.  He believes the move would be better for all the tenants.

"What restaurant would not want to be on the corner of Front Street and Yakima Avenue?" he said. "So the proposal is a win-win, I think, for all businesses."

But Coralie Greenhow, owner of Coralie's Sewing and Alterations disagrees.  She is concerned about the idea of having to pick up her business and setup shop all over again.

"The ambiance of what we have here will be gone in essence, this has charm all of its own," she said.

Both owners admit that having to shut down their business for even a day will hurt them and that if the move takes a few months, it may not be a closure they can come out of and survive.
