Price, Britain move on in Kennewick City Council race
KENNEWICK, Wash.-- One of the most intriguing races is the Kennewick City Council race for Position 1. Long time incumbent Marge Price was up against more than one candidate for the first time.
Councilwoman Price is bidding for her fourth term on Kennewick City Council, but for the first time, there was competition for her to make it past tonight's primary.
Immediately after voting ended, the results were released to those waiting at the Kennewick Auditor's annex. Preliminary results show price made it through with 27 percent of the vote, but quick on her heels is newcomer Don Britain, running in his first city council election. Britain says he passed the primary because the people of Kennewick are fed up with what he says is the poor handling of issues like $3 million golf course award.
Britain credits his success to a strong door-to-door campaign. Meanwhile Price told kndu, her decades of experience still make her best for the job.
