KENNEWICK, Wash-- The popular Cash for Clunkers program is about to hit empty. The program comes to an end this Monday, after generating about $2 billion in rebates.
But here locally, it's not just the government-run program revving up sales. McCurley Honda in Kennewick tells KNDU last week they sold 119 cars in just five days last week. They also say only 15% were because of Cash for Clunkers.
The dealership says this may be a sign consumers are ready to buy again. Right now, they're down to almost a third of inventory because of the high demand for a new car.
