Parents and students held a work party today at Delta high school, a new public school that specializes in math, science and technology.
The 100 freshmen, their parents, and faculty today landscaped the campus with shrubs and flowers donated by C&M Nursery, unpacked boxes and assembled furniture for the classrooms.
School principal Deidre Holmberg says it's a grass roots effort. "This is for us, by us, and really gives everbody a chance to make this place their own."
Nearly 300 students throughout the Tri-Cities applied to be part of Delta's freshman class.
The school will add one grade per year until it has about 400 students.
