YAKIMA--A hay truck going too fast in a work zone rolls over, blocking two lanes of I-82 for several hours.
Washington State Troopers say the driver was going highway speeds when he crossed from I-82 to the detour on State Route 821. The driver then lost control and the back end of his trailer flipped.
State troopers thought this might happen because of the sharp turn from the interstate on to the detour road.
"This is the first time it's happened," Lt. Jim Keightley, Wash. State Patrol, said. "Clearly, if the individual would have been going 35 miles per hour it would not have happened."
Traffic was slowed and limited to one lane for several hours until troopers brought in a crane to move the trailer.
The driver was not injured. He'll be charged with negligent driving.
