Evansville, IND. - The two teams have battled all season - the only teams to win race events.  Coming into the weekend, U-1 Oh Boy! Oberto's Steve David has a 249 point lead over the U-16 Elam and Dave Villwock.  David added 20 points to that total by having the top qualifying speed for the first time the year when Villwock received a N2 violation negating his top speed.

Heat 1A

The two were matched up head-to-head in Heat 1A and the match-up didn't disappoint.  In the heat, Jimmy King and the piston-powered U-3 Master Tire was first over the line, but by the time they came out of the first turn, it was the U-1 in the lead with the U-16 right on his hip.  King was in 3rd.

It stayed that way throughout the heat with David in front and Villwock challenging.  In the final turn in the final lap, Villwock floated to the outside of David and went up and over.

Villwock was able to get out of the cockpit and make it back to the pits.  He's reportedly in good condition with minor cuts and bruises.

After review, officials ruled that Steve David moved out on the U-16.  David was disqualified.  That gave the win to Jimmy King in the U-3.

Heat 1B

Greg Hopp leads them across the line good start over the ABRA radio. Jeff Bernard leads them out of the turn. Hopp is second. One roostertail lead as JB leads them across the line the first time. Kip Brown fighting for third with Dr Ken Muscatel. He takes the lead up the back. One more lap to go the duel is with Dr Ken and Kip Brown. Back and forth as they enter the lower turn. Jeff Bernard leading the pack as they enter the upper turn and holds them to the finish!

Greg Hopp in the U-100 Mirageboats.com led the pack across the start line as he has done many times this season.  Out of the turn, however, it was Jeff Bernard in the U-5 Formulaboats.com grabbing the lead with Hopp in second.

Bernard and Hopp would hold their positions for the rest of the race.  A good race between Kip Brown in the U-17 and Ken Muscatel in the U-25.  Brown took the lead for the third place spot on the backstretch of lap one, but the boats stayed tight.  Brown was able to hold off Muscatel to take third.
