EVANSVILLE 2009: U-5 Jeff Bernard, U-3 Jimmy King win Heats 3A, 3B
It was the battle of the two red boats as teammates Jeff Bernard in the U-5 and J. Michael Kelly in the U-7 were matched up head-to-head. Kelly made it first to the start line and led the boats across the line.
Bernard grabbed the lead coming out of the turn and held it through lap one. In lap two, Bernard started to lengthen out his lead. That's the way things finished.

With the U-16 sidelined after the flip, ABRA reports that Erik Ellstrom has "purchased" the -Our Gang Racing as his back up hull. Nate Brown will be the driver for the Elam Plus. Motors have been transfered to the U16 back-up hull.
Jimmy King in the U-3 nailed the start and led wall-to-wall. Steve David in the U-1 was in second, but was unable to reel in King as the U-3 stretched the lead first to a full roostertail and then to two roostertails at the end of lap two.
Nate Brown, driving the U-17 as the U-16 (confused yet?), finished 4th but that would get the U-16 a spot in the provisional heat.
