Neighbors concerned with underweight horses

Posted: Updated:

BENTON CITY, Wash. - Several calls have been made to the Benton County Sheriff's Office regarding the health of horses. Some people say the horses have been given minimal water and food.

Morgan Morton lives nearby and says two of the horses were locked up in a 12x12 foot dirt pin. Morgan said, "Today was the fifth day and no food or water.   Me and my mom would drive by here and see it.   I had called the sheriff and they came out and he still hadn't watered them."

Morgan adds that there have been many complaints to the Benton County Sheriff's Office. But in her opinion the horses continue to be mistreated. We talked to the horse owner today and he denies the horses are mistreated.
