West Richland Police crackdown on motorists not yielding to pedestrians

Posted: Updated:
WEST RICHLAND, Wash.--  A few months after a teen was hit by a car at a West Richland crosswalk, police gave out thirty tickets during emphasis patrols at the same intersection.

Police have been cracking down on drivers at 40th Ave. and Van Giesen who fail to yield to pedestrians.

Part of the reason for the emphasis is because school starts soon and police want to remind drivers to give the right of way to people crossing the street.
