KENNEWICK, Wash.-- The Kennewick Fire Department had big shoes to fill on the intersection of Clearwater and Morain.
Today was their annual Fill the Boot fundraiser. They were getting donations and raising money to combat muscular dystrophy.
All of the money raised this morning stays here locally.
"The money we raise stays local here and helps patients that have one of the nuero-muscular diseases," said Capt. Kelly Williamson. "It sends kids to camp, it buys flu shots, repairs wheelchairs and gets wheelchairs."
The firefighters union has put on the fundraiser for over fifty years.
Last year the Department raised over ten thousand dollars.
