Yakima prepares for Eyman, moves forward with code of ethics
The city of Yakima is hosting a public forum Tuesday with Tim Eyman about his property taxes initiative.
It will be part of this week's city council meeting. The council will not take a position on the issue and the city says it has not looked into the potential impact locally. The city will also move forward with plans for a code of ethics.
Council member Maureen Adkison says the entire council appears to be behind the idea.
"That's my personal opinion," she said. "I can't speak for everyone on the council but I think that given the right code of ethics, I think that everybody would get behind it, I certainly will."
The council expects to have a first draft of the code of ethics tomorrow night. They then hope to make it viewable to the public for input.
